UV Absorbers UV-P

Ultraviolet Absorber UV-P (also known as Light Stabilizer UV-P, Drometrizole) is a benzotriazole-type ultraviolet absorber with the chemical name 2-(2'-hydroxy-5'-methylphenyl)benzotriazole, or 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-p-cresol.

This product effectively protects polymer materials from degradation caused by ultraviolet radiation by absorbing UV light in the 270-380 nm wavelength range and converting it into harmless thermal energy. As a representative variety of benzotriazole-type UV absorbers, UV-P is widely used in plastics, fibers, coatings and other fields due to its characteristics of high absorption efficiency, light color, low toxicity, and good compatibility.

This product UV-P is a high efficient UV absorber, which can effectively absorb 270-380 nm UV light.

Odorless, good thermo stability under high temperature.

Non-flammable, non-explosive, non-toxic, harmless to health.

This product almost does not absorb visible light, particularly applicable to colorless and light-colored products.

UV-P provides ultraviolet protection in a wide variety of polymers including styrene homo- and copolymers, engineering plastics such as polyesters and acrylic resins, polyvinyl chloride, and other halogen containing polymers and copolymers (e.g. vinylidenes), acetals and cellulose esters. Elastomers, adhesives, polycarbonates, polyurethanes, and some cellulose esters and epoxy materials also benefit from the use of UV-P.

Use in combination with antioxidants: Can be used together with phenolic antioxidants and phosphite antioxidants to enhance the overall stabilization effect.

Use in combination with other light stabilizers: Can be used synergistically with other light stabilizers such as hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) to further improve light stabilization performance.
