Optical Brightener Agent BA-L is a liquid, distyryl-bistriazine type fluorescent whitening agent. Its C.I. number is 113, CAS number is 12768-92-2, molecular formula is C₄₀H₄₂N₁₂O₁₀S₂Na₂, and its relative molecular mass is 960.94.
The product appears as an amber transparent liquid. It is an anionic whitening agent with a blue-violet fluorescence. It can be used in the same bath with anionic or non-ionic surfactants and exhibits good alkali resistance and peroxide stability.

Features
Compared to BA, Optical brightener BA-L is an environment-friendly product and has high temperature and low temperature storage stability.
Performance Characteristics
Good Alkali Resistance: Stable against perborates and peroxides.
Good Affinity for Paper Fibers: Very suitable for internal pulp whitening.
Good Compatibility: Can be used in the same bath with anionic or non-ionic surfactants.
Storage Stability: Excellent high and low temperature storage stability; an environmentally friendly product.
High Cost-Effectiveness: The required dosage is only 1.2–1.4 times that of 100% powdered VBL whitening agent, and 60% of that of other domestic liquid fluorescent whitening agents.
Applications
Mainly used in pulp brightening, surface sizing and coating, etc, with high acid resistance. It is the first choice to produce paper of high brightness requirements.

Reference dosage
Paper Industry
Internal Pulp Addition: Add directly to the pulp. The conventional dosage is 0.05% – 1.4% of the absolutely dry pulp.
Surface Sizing: Works best when used together with PVA, CMC, or starch. Dosage: 0.5 – 10 g/L.
Coating Process: Can be added at any point. Conventional dosage: 0.1% – 1.4% (based on coating weight).
Textile Dyeing and Printing
Add directly to the dyeing machine.
Dosage: 0.25% – 0.85% (based on fabric weight).
Liquor ratio: 1:20 – 40.
Temperature: 60 – 100°C.
Detergent Industry
Recommended dosage: 0.1% – 0.2%.
Precautions
Shake well before use: If sedimentation or layering occurs in the suspension, simply shake well before use; product quality will not be affected.
Avoid overdosing: Excessive dosage will reduce whiteness or even cause yellowing; insufficient dosage will affect the whitening effect.
Freeze protection: If freezing occurs in winter, simply warm to melt and stir well before use; product quality will not be affected.
Storage conditions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
Package & Storage
25kg & 100& 200kg plastic drums or IBC drum. It can be packed in other forms according to user's requirements.
Shelf life: not more than 6 months in the room temperature.
