Optical Brightener CXT (also known as fluorescent whitening agent 71, C.I. Fluorescent Whitening Agent 71) is a distyrene triazine anionic fluorescent whitening agent. It appears as a white to pale yellow uniform powder. The product is a pale yellow low-melting solid with a melting point above 270°C.

Features

Fluorescent Brightener CXT is a recognized excellent brightener for detergent, with improved acid resistance and perborate resistance. It can be used to brighten cellulose fibers, polyamide fibers and textiles. Fluorescent Brightener CXT is ionic, with blue fluorescence.its advantages are: high compatibility, high accumulative washing brightness, and adjustable dosage in industry.

High light fastness: Light fastness reaches grade 4, superior to traditional whitening agent varieties.

Strong chlorine bleach resistance: Superior to VBL and 31#, suitable for chlorine-containing bleaching systems.

Good acid resistance: Morpholine group is introduced into the molecule, significantly improving acid resistance.

Good perborate resistance: Suitable for detergent systems containing perborates.

Excellent whitening effect: A key scientific and technological achievement of China's Seventh Five-Year Plan. The whitening effect is superior to R, B, and VBL, and can increase the whiteness of pulp with a brightness above 76% SBD by 5-7%.

Applications

1. Can be used in detergent, detergent powder, soap and perfumed soap to bring up bright and attractive appearance.

2. Can be used to brighten cotton fiber, nylon and such textiles, has excellent brightening efficiency to polyamide fibers and vinylon, and has good brightening efficiency to protein fibers and amino plastics.

1. Detergent Industry (Primary Application)

Fluorescent whitening agent CXT is mainly used in the formulation of synthetic laundry powders, soaps, and toilet soaps, giving them a white, pleasing appearance that is crystal clear and plump. Compared with detergents containing CBS‑X, its cleaning ability is lower under the same conditions. It is a general‑purpose whitening agent, mainly used in mid‑to‑low grade washing products.

2. Textile Industry

Suitable for whitening cotton, nylon (polyamide), rayon, polyamide, vinylon and other fabrics, especially for whitening cotton and polyester/cotton blended fabrics.

Recommended dosage: 0.1%–0.3% (on the weight of fabric)

3. Paper Industry

Used for paper products to enhance whiteness and brightness, and to counteract yellowing. Particularly suitable for whitening pulp with medium whiteness or above.

Reference dosage

It can be diluted10% suspending solution with hot water for use. The solution should be kept out of the sun. Its dosage in detergent powder is 0.1-0.5%; in printing and dyeing industry is 0.1-0.3%.
