Light Stabilizer LS 770 (also known as Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer 770) is a low molecular weight hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) with the chemical name bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate. This product effectively inhibits the photo-oxidative degradation of polymers through a free radical scavenging mechanism, providing excellent long-term light stability for polymer materials. It is one of the most widely used light stabilizers available today.

LS 770 is particularly suitable for the light stabilization protection of thick articles, while also exhibiting good performance on high-specific-surface-area products such as films and tapes. It is an ideal light stabilization solution for polyolefins, styrenic polymers, polyurethanes, and engineering plastics.

Applications

 

 

Light Stabilizer 770 is recommended for polypropylene, impact modified PP (TPO), EPDM, polystyrene, impact polystyrene, ABS, SAN, ASA, polyurethanes, and is also effective in polyamides and polyacetals.

Performance Evaluation:

When used in combination with antioxidants, it can significantly improve heat aging resistance.

When used in combination with UV absorbers (such as UV 326, UV 327, UV 329), it exhibits a synergistic effect, further enhancing light stabilization performance.

Regulatory Status: This product is permitted for use in polyolefin plastics intended for food contact in countries such as Japan, Canada, and the United States (maximum usage level: 0.5% in the US and Japan; 0.35% in Canada).

Restricted Applications: Not suitable for use in applications involving direct food contact, or in products that come into contact with mucous membranes, abraded skin, or are implanted into the human body.
