Light Stabilizer LS 292 is a low molecular weight hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) with a chemical composition consisting of a mixture of bis(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate and 1-(methyl)-8-(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate. This product is supplied in liquid form, appearing as a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid.
Through a free radical scavenging mechanism, LS 292 effectively inhibits the photo-oxidative degradation of polymer materials, providing long-term light stabilization protection for a wide range of polymer systems. Mechanism of Action
The mechanism of action of hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) is similar to that of antioxidants, functioning by scavenging free radicals generated from the initial ultraviolet degradation of the organic system.
Key Characteristics:
Non-consumptive: HALS are not consumed during the process of scavenging free radicals, allowing them to provide long-term, continuous protection.
Bulk Protection: Unlike UV absorbers, HALS do not follow the Beer-Lambert law and are capable of providing protection to both the bulk phase and the surface of the entire material.
